Afghan Nowruz Dinner

Please join us for an Afghan New Year's dinner that welcomes spring! Nowruz is a very important date in the Afghan calendar, particularly for women, who gather the night before to cook the festival food, sing songs and trade stories. We'll be doing the same, preparing all the most traditional dishes of the holiday, from labor-intensive samanak, a sweet porridge made of sprouted wheat, to haft miwa, a delicate compote of seven dried fruits and nuts that brings good fortune in the year to come. As always, the feast will be accompanied by abundant punch and wine. We hope you can join us, and Nowruz Mobarak, happy new year!
